Welcome to Traben-Trarbach! As the City Mayoress, I would like to sincerely welcome you to our home page.
May I introduce myself? My name is Heide Pönnighaus, and I have been the City Mayoress of Traben-Trarbach since August 2004. I was born in 1946, am married and have two grown-up daughters.
I thoroughly enjoy being the honorary city mayoress of such a pretty small city, which is located in an especially beautiful region of the lovely Mosel River. Our city is mainly characterized by wine growing and tourism. Our wine growers produce delectable wines, and our tourist attractions and infrastructure are widely varied. Our overnight accommodations range from a simple private room to a 5 star hotel. We also offer several choices for snacks and dining, from fast food snack bars to elegant gourmet restaurants.
In Traben-Trarbach you will find an excellent selectionof retail and service stores, and shopping here is still a pleasure. In addition, we offer the full range of school types, from primary to secondary schools, in our city.
The City of Traben-Trarbach, including the Wolf and Kautenbach city districts, has approx. 6000 inhabitants and covers an area of 3,122 hectares.
