Around 1900 cosmopolitan wine traders built a lot of Art Deco and Art Nouvelle buildings in Traben-Trarbach. Therefore Art deco, baroque, neo-classical and Moselle typical buildings take turns in Traben-Trarbach. Historical sites like the Brückentor, the castle ruin Grevenburg and the fortress Mont Royal are typical for Traben-Trarbach. Underground

Since Traben-Trarbach was the second-biggest wine-trading place in Europe in the second half of the 19th century the capacity of wine-cellars had to be enlarged like in no other place on the Moselle. So new cellars were built in large areas in the underground of the town.
